Private Tutoring:
A private tutoring class is a focused one on one session with a student (usually between 45 – 60 minutes per session).
Tutors specializing in one-on-one sessions are allocated.
We also have qualified remedial tutors and life coaches who can assist with any problem area students may have with studying and performance.
We offer private tutoring in Caps and IEB curriculum as well as the Cambridge subjects highlighted in our group class offering.
Other curricula and subjects may be available for private tutoring, feel free to enquire and where we don’t offer the specific requirement, we will refer you to someone who can assist.
Paper Marking
It is especially helpful for senior students to work through past papers in detail. Not only do they get an understanding of their own knowledge, but seeing how exam questions are asked and practising how to correctly answer them is indispensable to success.
We provide students with past papers and will mark them in detail, with comments on where questions could be answered differently to obtain more marks and any other tips.
The student can also have a follow up call with the marker to clarify.
Examination Preparation:
Where a student does classes with us, they are exposed to exam level questions after each topic as well as in homework and the internal examinations.
Where a student has been registered for an examination, they will start with our examination preparation program. We do an intensive program for 9 to 10 weeks and it usually coincides with the beginning of the 1st and 3rd term each year (for the May and October annual exams).
The first 2 to 3 weeks will be revision of the most difficult and important concepts of the subject after which weekly papers must be completed (all papers for subjects to be written each week).
These papers need to be written at specific times where tutors supervise the process and becomes stricter and more aligned to exam conditions as we progress.
Classes continue during this time (up to the day before the exam), and are used to go through the papers, discuss exam techniques and tips as well as overall preparation.
We follow a tried and tested process and it yields great results when students take it on and work with us through this process.
Students who do not attend classes with us can also join the exam prep process when it starts – we do require them to write an assessment prior to joining in order to give honest feedback about how ready they are for the process. They have to have gone through the syllabus at least once to twice for IGCSE subjects and at least two to three times for AS subjects.
